Review: Wizard's First Rule

This is the first book in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. The book follows Richard Cypher, a woods guide, who lives in a land divided by a magical boundary. The other side of the boundary holds a place filled with magic. Richard encounters a strange woman from the other side of the boundary which sets off a chain of events that changes the world.

This is one of my favorite books and is the best of the Sword of Truth series. The premise of the book sounds like almost any other fantasy novel but its not even close. The story includes a lot of sex, rape, and torture which makes it more adult than most novels. I call these the three essentials because every story needs a little bit of rape and torture. The book is a lot like the Song of Ice and Fire series except there is a lot more action and adventure. I highly recommend you buy the first book and you can thank me later. I shall give this book 10 out of 10 Beards of Truth!
